Our new website launches

We are very proud to launch our brand spanking new website.  Its the culmination of months of long hours and late nights. But its fantastic to finally get here and be able to see the website site. This is a very important first step for us, over the coming months this website will be the online home for all our wide ranging activities, and we are looking forward to filling it full of exciting and challenging content as our business grows.

One of the main challenges facing us has always been explaining what it is that we do. In a nutshell, our raison d'etre is to provide services that help non-profit organisations change peoples life, or at least make them easier. We have worked with the voluntary sector for years now and got really tired of continually seeing poor products pushed on resource strained organisations for too much money. Sure we want to make a living, but as the saying goes; a business that makes only money is a poor kind of business. So we wanted to produce and deliver solutions that actually make a difference and don't cost the earth, and thats why we're here today as UPR.

We're tried our best to make our content throughout the website accessible to everyone. If you want to get a good idea of who we are and what we offering, first stop should be the Products and Services section. As well as all our services, we have two live applications ( uGive and uMeet ) that we're receiving fantastic feedback from already. We have another application, uLearn, thats in beta at the moment. This is a Specialised Learning Management System and we're really excited about it. We'll have more news on everything soon, and you can sign-up to our newsletter and RSS feed from the home page if you want to keep updated.

Have a read through our About us section, you might run into the odd heavy philosophical notion alright, but nothing that hasn't got a place in explaining how we came to form UPR and what our goals and values are. This stuff comes from the heart and we've tried to leave out anything that comes remotely close to corporate talk..

Our design approach is always form follows function, never the other way around. So to that end, in everything we design we try to be clear, clean and intuitive. From this website to each of our products, everything is designed so that training shouldn't be necessary and it should be impossible to get lost. So please let us know what you think, good or bad we love feedback, and don't worry we're fairly thick skinned!

You may have noticed that we have included some basic articles around online support and internet-delivered interventions.  These are for those who are wondering what its all about, and how these things can strengthen their services. On your wander through the website you might also notice some hints for what we have in store for 2008. One of those big things is our Online Resource, to be launched mid-year. It will be our full-blown knowledge base web-site detailing the latest advances in online support and therapy, with (peer-reviewed) academic articles, forums, contributions from experts, and experience from service providers. We are really hoping this resource will be a big help to the community and to furthering important technologies and their adoption.

Thats all for the moment, but please get in touch with us if you have any questions about anything we do, or, equally important - want to just say hello.
